    Radiant heating …
Radiant heating systems which heat whole houses utilize water temps as low as 80 degrees F. Coupling this system to a radiant slab or to baseboard water heaters makes all kinds of sense. the slab option provides more storage, as the heat is transferred to thermal mass, but the baseboard option is more practical for already existing construction. Way cool for non-techies like me.

Where do you thing the “stinky muck” comes from? If it’s not in the cold water. I’d rather have it in the hot water heater than in my coffee. :P

    Why not ditch the …
Why not ditch the stiff pipe, and use flexible black pipe, laying the pipe along the each channel in your corrugated roof. If you spray the roof with silver paint then each channel becomes a reflector, massively increasing the heating effect.

    ok hot shots….now …
ok hot shots….now use that hot water to produce electricity by connecting your contraption to a generator. by the way, this is a multi billion dollar idea if you can pull it off in a way that every houshold in the world can use it….and youd put the electric company out of business.

    So this system is …
So this system is to supplement the hot water heater and thus reduce how much you need to run the hot water heater? Or is it a primary source of hot water?

    Any white pvc needs …
Any white pvc needs to be painted so the sun doesn’t degrade the pvc and make it brittle. Great project for not a lot of money we live 70769 and rarely freeze this on top the carport would not be a bad idea since we have issue with the brown carport getting too hot to walk under in the summer the heat really is bad enough to make you lower your head. Great place to hang out the clothes safe from rain plenty of heat to dry them. Good video and the placement idea worked good.

    Never drink or cook …
Never drink or cook with ANY water from heaters. Especially standard electric ones. Much of the lining of regular tanks are not intended for drinking. I have seen people use sink hot water for boiling pasta. YUCK. If you have every purged a heater tank, you will know. I have removed and installed them over 40 times for people in the past years and all have a stinky muck at the bottom.

Would hate to drink or cook with water that ran through a PVC pipe or had glycol in it. But otherwise, great!

    Ok, so in watching …
Ok, so in watching your fun and informative vids, I need to emphasize you two get yourselves down to a Radio Shack or similar store, and get what are called lav mics. These are the tiny little mics that you see folks clipping on, this’ll solve your ambient noise problems when recording, also will save on shouting. They’re inexpensive and do a great job.
    Good work, keep it up!

    All water heaters …
All water heaters should have a pressure release valve. Since there is no check valve, it should be okay buy you can add an additional valve to the setup outside. We have yet to have a problem with this but our tank is outside so any drips from the release valve would go unnoticed. If you make your own tank, get a valve for it. They cost about 30 bucks.

    Neat video Thanks. …
Neat video Thanks. Is there a problem with expansion. The water coming into my water tank now is cold and when not in use does not expand . but the water in the hose gets very hot when not in use. Is there a risk of a hose or joint bursting? If that happened while I was away from the house any savings would soon be washed away. Any thoughts?

    Thanks
